Come celebrate our strong community spirit up and down the line and hear about the current condition of the rail and plans for restoration of service.

Historic Morganton Festival
Waiting for the Train will have a booth at the Historic Morganton Festival! Come check it out and help us spread advocacy for bringing passenger rail back to Western North Carolina. We will have merch for sale, as well as a petition to sign!

Taste For The Train: Sidetracked Brewery Is Creating a Signature Beer for Waiting for the Train
Join us for an evening that will put your taste buds in the conductor's seat! Sample 5 delicious beer types and vote for your favorite.
Come join us at Sidetracked Brewery for a special event where we'll be tasting and voting on beer types to inform what award-winning brewer Joseph Ackerman crafts for us. This in-person event will give you the chance to say you helped create the beer that brought the train to town!

Waiting For The Train Community Meeting
Come on down to our community meeting Thursday, June 13th at 5:30, and hear what's happening with the Asheville-Salisbury line! We will be meeting at the covered Farmers’ Market pavilion near the depot at 300 Beach Street, Morganton, NC.
Representatives at the state, county, and city levels will speak about their efforts and what they need from us to keep the Asheville-Salisbury line on track. You'll also have the opportunity to sign-up for committees if you would like to get more involved!

Litter Sweep Kick Off At The Depot
Waiting For The Train will be participating in the 3rd annual Burke Chamber Litter Sweep. We will be picking up litter to help keep Burke County beautiful and to raise awareness for Waiting For The Train. Additionally, the team that collects the most litter wins a cash prize, so the more volunteers the better chances we have of raising funds for Waiting For The Train!

Black History Festival
Waiting For the Train will have a booth at this year’s annual Black History Festival, held at the Collett Street Recreation Center. Visitors to our table will have the chance to purchase or win Waiting for the Train merchandise and get the latest information about the return of passenger rail to Burke County.
Also, be sure to stop by the silent auction to place a bid on a basket of Waiting For the Train merchandise.
